Laundry Day

I dread laundry day. Perhaps if I had my own washer/dryer, I would despise it so much. But just thinking about it makes me groan: the long wait, the annoying quarters, the need to have cash to get the annoying quarters... I hate laundry day so much that I try to hold off as long as possible.

So, yesterday, I decided to tackle the growing pile of clothes in my closet and go to the laundry mat. Fortunately, the closest one is only 2 blocks away. So after loading up 6 washing machines, I was able to run a quick errand before switching the clothes into the 6 dryers.

Another bad thing about laundry day is that it makes me feel like I need to sort through my clothes to get rid of things I don't wear that often. This is an extremely difficult task! Sure there are clothes that I hardly wear anymore, but for some reason holding on to them makes me feel like I have more choices when I get dressed each morning. And sure that one shirt has a stain on it, but it's still great for wearing under a cardigan!

Oh laundry day, may I get by another month without having to do it again.
