New OLD Floors

The first thing we tackled were the hardwood floors. Mikes was a super trooper and did the majority of the work himself since I was busy studying and taking finals.

Before sanding, Mikes had to fill in a huge hole in the floor so Astro wouldn't fall through (oh and I guess so we can actually pass inspection too...)

AfterYou may notice that the wood doesn't actually match... with the dark stain on top, we thought we had oak floors so we got oak pieces to fill it in. Surprise! It's actually maple! I still think Mikes did a great job even if the wood doesn't match exactly.

Once the giant hole was fixed, Mikes rented a sander to start on the main floors. He recruited me to do the edges. Good thing my friend lent me her law lecture cds to listen to while I worked.

The rest of the house also had wood floors that we sanded. They aren't as nice as the main room, but they'll do!

Hooray for floors! Now that the floors are done, they're actually the cleanest part of the house!
