Smith Girls Holding Down the Fort

Yesterday, Mikes left with Cephas, linguistics guru and best pal, to the Winds for a few days of shenanigans and general debauchery. I hear they might get some climbing done too.

In the meantime, I have been chillazin' with my mammy, hanna-bones, and the rastro.

Mams has been helping me get my office together for the new school year. Yes, Mikes and I have different offices. We find this a necessity due to our different work habits. Growing up in a large family, I find the need for background noise (usually a tv episode) whereas Mikes needs complete silence.

My office space is coming along nicely. A lady snatched the rug we wanted before we could purchase it at Pottery Barn (I was boo-hooing about this all night), but we found another one that will do the job and I've painted Mikes old desk white. I am gathering a couple other furniture pieces together and am on the look out for an indoor plant or tree of some kind.

We also plan on getting my special Navajo Code Talkers poster framed this week. Oohhhh la la. It is definitely a one of a kind since it's signed by all the living Code Talkers (including my uncle Albert). My dad got everyone in the family one. When we bought the house, I was really excited to bring back my poster. Now all it needs is a frame!
