Every day I have to drive to the worst part of downtown Baltimore to go to class at the Johns Hopkins Medical Campus. At first, I thought I could manage on public transportation. Last winter, I actually took the bus a couple times from Derek's house to campus. It took about an hour, but I made it. I never tried taking the bus back since it was dark and the bus stop was actually a couple blocks off campus and out of sight of the security guards. This summer, I thought since it'd be light, catching the bus should be no problem. I thought wrong. I missed the first bus and got spooked trying to wait for the second. So instead, I drive.
Here are a couple shots from my commute:
Baltimore is row-house central.
Sorry, no pics of the many blue lights that I pass by on my drive (the city's surveillance system to monitor high crime areas).
Aside from having to commute, my class is going great and I've had a lot of fun spending time with the family. Both Farina and Emma were in town this past weekend. We're also watching Ben's kitty while he's vacationing it up in Cancun.
