Basement

Astro has been really confused the past couple days. He keeps hearing strange noises in the basement but is unable to go down and check it out. What could be going on??

First, it's amazing that Mike cleared out the basement for the work to even happen. Most of it was filled with junk and old boxes. We loaded up the subie and I drove around in search of cardboard recycling. Eventually found one at an elementary school...

Then Mikes marked off the line for the dig out.

And the work began!

While that is going on, I've been reorganizing our storage underneath the basement stairs which resulted in this mess:

I had really wanted to get it done while Mike was away so he wouldn't freak out about the mess. Clearly that did not happen. So I am working as quickly as possible. You would not believe all the papers I've thrown out. I know it made a mess of our "finished basement half," but I think it'll be worth it when I'm done.
