ECV

When we arrived at the hospital, baby was still breeched. so they got me prepped for a c-section, but were going to try the version first to flip baby. it took a little while because two other women suddenly went into delivery and we needed to wait for the attending physician to finish. The team here has been awesome. I was a little worried about the epidural but it went in like a charm and there is no way I could've handled the version without it. As it was, it was really intense and still painful from all the pressure.

I couldn't really see what was going on, but first the resident Ob-Gyn tried pushing. No luck. Then the attending stepped in and did some serious work. I had to concentrate on breathing because it was so intense. After a few minutes, baby was flipped! And I felt really sick. Couple dry heaves (because I haven't had anything to eat since yesterday) and about 10 minutes later I was back to feeling normal again.

With baby down and the epidural already in, they've started inducing me. So now it is just the waiting game.

In order to make the version tolerable, I had enough epidural stuff for surgery. It was really freaky to not be able to move my legs. After the version was successful I had a mini freak out because I was so numb. But feeling good now. Contractions feel like bad period cramps. I was so prepared for a c-section, now I have to switch gears and prepare for labor!
