Three Cups of Tea: One Man’s Mission to Promote Peace . . . One School at a Time
While on the train from CT to DC, I read Three Cups of Tea by Greg Mortenson and David Oliver Relin. The book is about Mortenson's work in Pakistan and Afghanistan, but David OR (a journalist) helped to write it so it would be readable. I thought it was a really great, uplifting story. It's amazing what this guy has accomplished and I especially love it b/c he's ordinary. Ok, ok... he was an awesome climber, but what he accomplished had nothing to do with his climbing skills. He was a simple guy with a big heart. For all of those who say they want to make a difference in the world, this is a must read. Overall I thought it was well-written, although I wouldn't suggest reading it all in one setting. There's a lot of detail and you may find yourself skimming.
