The problem with books is that once I start one, I have to finish no matter how bad it is...even if it means skimming through the last 150 pages just to get to the end. The worse book I've read and had to skim through was House of Sand and Fog. Hated it. No desire to see the movie. The characters drove me crazy. I really thought that they got themselves into a horrible mess all on their own and had no pity for them what so ever.
Seeing how I have to finish a book once I start, I get into more trouble when a sequel comes out. I haven't been a huge fan of the Luxe series. I think the author makes strange plot decisions and the characters also seem to perpetually be unhappy. Having said that, the third installment of the series recently came out:
I have just read/skimmed through the book and I'm as disappointed with this one as I was the previous two. However, no doubt when the 3rd and final book (finally) comes out, I will likely read it. Perhaps the author will finally provide some sense of coherency and resolve the many issues that seem to multiply like a wet mogwai (Gremlins was on tv the other night...).
Good thing libraries exist and you do not have to buy books which are mediocre, yet you feel compelled to read anyhow.

Hmmm you didn't like it? Dang. Yeah I did not like how Rumors ended - what the heck? Maybe I won't even bother reading Envy...
