Baby's First Indian Creek Trip

Since building his climbing gym, Mikes has been really anxious to get back down to Indian creek. So we looked at the calendar, decided that this weekend made the most sense, loaded up the car and the a-man, and drove south after work on Thursday.

We snagged our usual awesome camp site. I'm really glad we picked up some camping chairs on our way down. Astro was really glad too.

It was super sunny all weekend - almost too hot!

Usually we let astro run wild, but the first night, he started to chase something. Mikes went after him to see what it was when the thing suddenly hissed. Worried it might be a rattlesnake, both he and astro quickly ran away. In the process, Mikes really cut open two of his toes.

But, not to be deterred, he crammed his feet into his climbing shoes and went climbing anyway. After all, he had to take advantage of having such an awesome belay partner. But poor rastros lost his roaming privileges and remained on leash the rest of the trip.

At first I was worried about pooping out on the long ascents to the cliff and sleeping in a tent 32 weeks pregnant, but overall it wasn't so bad! I actually think I slept better than I normally do when camping (might have been all the pillows and cushioning I brought), the hiking was good exercise, and I even hopped on a couple easier climbs belly and all.

We had a great time! And I can tell already that baby girl will love this place as much as we do.
