Mikes and I both made it safely back to Salt Lake. Now that the due date is finally in sight, I don't think I'll be leaving the state again until Thanksgiving. While back East, Momma Donna threw a joint shower for me and Cat (the other daughter-in-law who is due in August). My mom and sister Emma made the drive up to enjoy the delicious food and good company.
And now that the shower is over, I can reveal the other quilt I was working on for Cat. Viola!
The backing is a very cute turquoise print. I decided to hand quilt this one and am glad I did - I like the look much better than a tie quilt, although it takes a lot longer.
unfortunately I don't have any other pictures of the trip... we had a good time in VT/NH visiting our friend Dan. We all hiked up to Waimea at Rumney where Dan and Mike climbed and I enjoyed the scenery (even not preggers, I can't get up a 5.12b climb). It was also our 4 year anniversary so Mikes and I went out to eat at our favorite place in Norwich, Vt: Carpenter & Main. yum.
the wedding was also really great - we saw a ton of old college friends. BR had their 40% extra off sale items, so I snagged that blue dress I had posted about before and was accessorized by Donna's great neighbor Cynthia.
overall a great (albeit busy) trip!
