Two posts in a week? You must be wondering what is going on... how do I have all this time on my hands to do two posts? Did I quit my job? Get fired??
nope.
I am home on sick baby duty.
I had a lot to do at work today. Among several other things, a pleading I was working on needed to go out and I was planning on attending an awesome lunch CLE with two other attorneys in my office. But, slowly, things started to unravel. First, Mikes needed a ride to the airport. For father's day, I granted him a 6 day trip to California to go to Yosemite with his buddy. My day was pretty full, but I thought, no big deal, I'll give Mikes a ride to the airport. So I went into work, 1.5hrs later, I picked Mikes up and dropped him off. As soon as I pull back into my parking space at work, I get a call from the day care. S has a fever and I have to come and pick her up. Noooo!!!
Told my work. Emailed myself the memo I was working on so I could edit it at home.
Picked up S. I thought the day care was being overly cautious, but surprise surprise, S is actually sick with the classic sick baby symptoms. Super hot and wanting to just sleep on momma. With baby on my lap, I finish editing my memo and email it back to my work. And now I am putting my work worries behind me and going to catch up on all the tv premiers.
I have a doctor appointment scheduled for S later today, but the day care warned me that even if the doctor clears her, they will still send her home if she is acting lethargic. So I may have 2 days off work. I'm not looking forward to making up those billable hours, but it's nice to reminisce on my stay at home days with my little girl, even if we're stuck indoors all day because she's sick.
