Astro is so cute and cuggable. He's even potty trained. But every once in awhile, he does something that makes me really mad. Like eat my shoes. He LOVES LOVES to eat strappy shoes. Or the back heels of Mike's shoes. I just bought new sandals for the Summer. I was really excited to have a pair of sandals again (I think a sister stole my last pair). Usually, when we leave the house, we do a quick run through to dog proof. This involves putting shoes away (or at least up on a shelf) and moving the trashcan outside (or up on a counter). However, the other night, I was so excited for Burger Night, I forgot that my sandals were left, vulnerable, on the floor. Sure enough, we came home and Astro had demolished the straps on one of the sandals. So now I had one good Sandal and one bad. This is the worst. If only he had destroyed BOTH sandals, then I could go buy a whole new set. But he had only touched ONE sandal. Could I possibly buy only one replacement sandal? Do they do such things? Who wants to pay full price for TWO sandals when you only need ONE?
Well, needless to say, no shoe store is inventive enough to only sell ONE shoe. Hello! Isn't it common knowledge that many people are pet owners and therefore only have ONE shoe? Whoever wants to start up a business, I think this would be a great idea - the ONE shoe store. It'd also be good for those folks with different sized feet.
Since there is not a "ONE Shoe Store" yet, I decided to get creative and fix the shoe myself. So, inspired by J.Crew's Ribbon Sandals , I created my own. Viola! My camera is missing, so this is a bad picture I shot with Mike's dying camera. I assure you, it's actually kinda cute. And more importantly, it works :)
