Baby girl will be full term on Saturday.... HOORAY! So I hope that she will come early, but am also mentally prepared for her to come late. Either way, I figure I need to get my hospital bag packed! I have looked at various lists online and would love to get input from the mommas that be on what is a go and what is a no:
- Hard candy - this seems very random, but I will want something to suck on between contractions? Or will I start choking on it?
- Book/magazines/laptop/dvds - for downtime at the hospital
- Headband - supposedly to keep your hair out of your face during delivery, but I am all for a cute one for pictures... like this one from anthro
- socks/slippers/flip flops - my feet always get cold, so I figure I better have something to wear and walk around in at the hospital, but do I really need socks AND slippers?
- Toiletries - including lotion, chapstick, make up, and lanolin
- Nursing bra - and pads?
- Going home outfits - for me and baby
- Something to sleep in - baggy pjs or a gown?
- Other things on the list that one friend said to already cross off because the hospital provides them: pads/depends and towel
So goals this week: pack hospital bag and buy baby car seat!

Ah so exciting! LOVE the headband idea! My hair got put in a random ponytail by my doula and I look so awful in all the pictures! I am always hot so didn't bother with slippers... the good thing about living so close is Mike can run home and grab something if you want it the next day and forgot it. Great list though!
Good list, so far. I did wear socks and then when I wanted to walk around the hospital I put my slippers on (over my socks, I guess I'm a dork). I don't wear slippers in bed, so it worked for me. I wore the hospital gown most of the time because it had easy access for nursing. But I know you could wear anything that has a nursing top. YES, to nursing pads and lanolin! Seems like nursing was the main event in the hospital for the first 2 days. Definitely bring the laptop and camera so you can email out pics of baby to us! Ipod and magazines would be great during labor. I didn't have time for any of that... Lastly, we brough a baby blanket from home. The hospital provides one, but it's a really scratchy one. Kinda nice to have a cute one in pics. (and maybe a baby bow or headband if you want those in pics, too) Wooooot!! Can't wait!
We kinda already talked about this but I second your list & Lay & Es' suggestions!
