This time around, it was harder for S to adjust to the time change back home. I think that's mainly due to the fact that we had to wake up at 4am yesterday and she hardly slept on the plane. I was struggling to keep her up till 7pm yesterday. I was also pooped and went to bed at 9:30p. Glad I did because she woke up twice last night.
I'm starting to get down the baby travelling. First time I flew with S, I used her baby carrier. Second time, we brought the stroller. The stroller is useful if you're going clothing shopping. Otherwise, next time I'll probably just use the carrier. S only likes being in her stroller if its moving. So half the time she wants out of it, leaving me holding her and pushing the stroller too. Even though they gate check strollers free of charge, they are still bulky and take up space in the car. Plus, I found out you can walk straight through the x-ray with your baby in the carrier - no need to take it off - the tsa just does the extra hand swipe on you.
S is pretty good on the plane. Although this last trip, she hardly slept. I bring a couple toys for her to play with and basically use my breast as a pacifier. It works, but she's literally attached to my boob at least half the flight. On the way home, I also had to change her diaper 4 times! Thank goodness planes have changing tables (Amtrak does NOT).
We are staying in SLC for Christmas, but good luck to all those moms out there travelling with babies for the holidays.
