Happy Birthday, Mike!

Today is Mike's 30th birthday.  Hip hip hooray!

In order to get Mikes prepared for having a baby, I kept telling him that he was getting old and needed to get a move on it.  So, turning 30 is no big deal since he thought he was turning 30 for the past two years.

Nonetheless, we love birthdays around the Tanana house and are excited to celebrate his big day!  We started the morning off with his homemade present - a book full of favorite mike memories and well wishes from friends and family.  I got the idea from creative friend Liv who did a similar thing for her hubs on his 30th.

And of course my favorite birthday tradition is going around and saying why you love that person, so here we go:

I love Mike for many reasons:

• he is the master of statistics
• he reminds me to put on socks when my feet turn blue in the winter
• he created a beautiful baby girl with me (even though he would've rather waited a year or two)
• he can handle my Smith-inherited craziness (last minute planning, melodramatic behavior, and passive aggressive crankiness)
• he is always kind to people and goes out of his way to start up a conversation

Astro loves Mike because he feeds him and lets him snuggle up with him during naptime.

Soryn loves Mike because:

• he bounces her on his knee when she's sad
• he takes her on hikes when the weather is nice
• he passed along his great blue-eyes
