My awesome sister-in-law Katherine passed along the Stylish Blogger award, which I think is like one of those chain mail things. Post seven things about yourself, then tag seven people to continue it on? I don't really know, but here we go anyway!7 Things about Smithy:
- I always wanted a nickname growing up, but you just can't do it with Heather. So, my dad calls me mugs and the LBGs started calling me Smithy (after my maiden name - Smith). And it's kinda stuck, even post-marriage. Want to know what LBG standards for? Too bad.
- I have short pinkies. Most people's pinkies lines up with the top line of their ring finger, mine stop somewhere in between my knuckle and that top line.
- My big toe points upward. Once when I was around eleven years old, I was playing at a friends house when her little sister sat on my toe. She cut herself. That's it for weird body parts. Promise.
- I have this problem of always thinking about worse case scenarios. Every time Mikes leaves on an outdoor adventure trip, I think about what I would do if he died and usually end up crying. It's weird, I know.
- I would rather see a new movie (that may turn out bad) than one I've already seen (but loved).
- I'm not outdoorsy. People always assume that because Mikes and I are married I must be addicted to hiking, climbing, skiing, and whatever else it is you do outdoors. Truth be told, I am lazy. I enjoy rock climbing, but it's almost always Mikes who has to initiate the trip out the door.
- I always thought I would be a stay at home mom, but after being fortunate to go to grad school, I feel the need to use these skills! And my dad has always been my hero on helping the American Indian peoples. Volunteer work, pro bono, or paid, I'm slowly making my way to making a difference.
