Natural Wood or Classic White?

We are closing on our house this week (cross your fingers!) and have many decisions to make about the interior...

One of the biggest decisions is what type of molding and door type to go with!! Should we do classic white?Or medium-dark natural wood?

I'm loving the knotty alder doors they have these days,

but I feel like if you go with those then you should also have natural wood baseboards, rather than white...

What style do you like?

When it comes to houses I'm all about classic. I'd for sure stick with white because it won't date your house. Light brown will work only if you're going for an overall rustic feel. As for doors (and cabinets), knotty alder is super in right now, and has been for a while, but if I build I'm going to steer away from it because I don't want something that expensive and permanent to date the interior. The good news is that becasue it has been in for at least 6 years that there is a chance it will become classic (at least in Utah) but again, that's an expensive risk to take.

Oh gosh, I am a HUGE fan of classic white, but I saw a house Linds was looking at that had that had the knotty alder & I really liked that look too- I think I better see the house to decide!
